Introducing the First-Ever CFCA Intramural Open!

Get ready, CFCA! We're bringing a brand-new level of energy, competition, and community to this year's CrossFit Open with our first-ever Intramural Open!

This is your change to throw down, have fun, and compete alongside your gym family in a friendly, team-based format - whether you're an Open veteran or a first-timer!


The Basics:

  • Captains will be selected and teams will be randomly selected on February 22nd.

  • The 1st workout will be announced on Thursday, February 27th. We will be running the Open workouts all day on Friday featuring Friday Night Lights (FNL). More on that below!

  • Each week, we'll battle through the Open workouts, earning points for participation, performance, and team spirit.


What is Friday Night Lights? 

Friday Night Lights is a highlight of our Intramural Open. Each Friday starting on 2/28, we will perform the workout in heat times, adding some fun and challenge to each WOD. We encourage everyone in the gym to show up to participate or hang out.

How do I get points?

Participation

  1. 3 points for registering at games.crossfit.com

  2. 1 point per athlete - who completes and logs a score for an Open workout

    1. BONUS points if workout is completed during FNL

 Performance

  1. 3 points for the top male and female Rx and Scaled in each workout

  2. 2 points for the 2nd place male and female Rx and Scaled in each workout

  3. 1 point for 3rd place male and female Rx and Scaled in each workout

PRs and Firsts

  1. 2 points for a PR, first RX workout, first muscle-up, etc.

 Team Spirit

  1. 2 points per athlete who dresses up for weekly theme nights

    1. Week 1 - Superhero/Villain Theme

    2. Week 2 - CFCA Night (wear CFCA swag or gym colors)

    3. Week 3 - St. Patrick's Day

  2. 1 Point (per week) for posting on YOUR social media about all the fun you are having. Be sure to tag us using #cfca4life

  3. 1 Point – If you show up during FNL to cheer or hang out.

 Bonus Challenges

  1. Points for the team or athlete completes randomly assigned tasks or pop-up challenges each week.

Outside the Gym Challenge

  1. 3 points per athlete who finds and completes 3 creative movements outside the gym (box jumps on a park bench, wall walks on a building, sled push a shopping cart)
