This recognition has been a long time coming. As an OG member of CFCA, Gina embodies what we stand for. She's a silent assassin with OTG activities, always participates in gym challenges and works hard for the committed club every month. We could go on and on about her, but chances are you already know how great she is! It's always a pleasure to work out alongside Gina. Her positive attitude and encouraging words can get anyone through a tough WOD. Congrats, Gina! Welcome to the MOTM Club. You deserve it!
What's your favorite achievement since becoming a member of CFCA? Recently, it’s committing to the Committed Club and pushing myself to attend a minimum of 3 classes per week consistently. Another sweet victory was being on Team Horganators and clinching the Spring Challenge. What was your first concert? Tom Petty What is your favorite lift? Back Squat or Snatch Favorite WOD and least favorite WOD? Favs are the Hero and Ladies of CF WODS. Least fav is anything with more than 30 burpees!! What is your current, favorite workout song that gets you going? Anything with some funky beats and bass lines. What is your favorite thing about the CFCA community? Coming together consistently to get after it and prepare for life outside the gym. Plus I’ve met so many of the best people here. This community is my mental health, no joke. Since joining back in 2010 (!) CFCA peeps have supported me through so many joyful and challenging moments - getting married, remodeling, birth of Enzo, 74 blood transfusions (by age 4), IVF to conceive Francesca, chemo & a successful stem cell transplant, a new house, COVID, starting a side business, and the list goes on. As my younger, single self CFCA fulfilled my vanity (body consciousness), as my older, evolved self CFCA is my sanity.
What advice would you give new members? Take it slow and steady. Every workout can be scaled and modified to meet where you are fitness-wise. Walking through the door is a win, celebrate your commitment to health and wellness. And have FUN!
